Japan passes 7.95 trillion yen in defense budget, setting a new high.

China urges it to adhere to the path of peaceful development

Yesterday, Japan officially passed the 2024 fiscal year budget, with defense expenditures reaching 7.95 trillion yen, a record high.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said at a regular press conference that due to Japan's modern history of foreign aggression, Japan's military and security trends have always been highly concerned by neighboring Asian countries and the international community. In recent years, the Japanese side has significantly adjusted its security policy, increased its defense budget year by year, continuously relaxed restrictions on the export of weapons, and sought breakthroughs in military development, which has raised strong doubts among neighboring Asian countries and the international community about whether Japan truly insists on exclusively defending itself and adhering to the path of peaceful development.

Lin Jian said that China urges the Japanese side to earnestly respect the security concerns of neighboring countries, deeply reflect on its aggressive history, adhere to the path of peaceful development, and avoid further losing the trust of neighboring Asian countries and the international community.
