Kishida meets with Indonesian president-elect and confirms promotion of security cooperation

Kyodo News reported that Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida met with Indonesian President-elect and current Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto. Taking into account China's rising influence in the Indo-Pacific region, the two sides confirmed that they would promote security cooperation.

The two sides also exchanged views on the situation in the South China Sea and reached consensus on continued cooperation.
