The US saw the number of initial jobless claims fall to 211,000 last week.

The US Department of Labor announced that as of the week ending April 6, the number of initial jobless claims was 211,000, a decrease of 11,000 from the previous week, while the market expected it to be 215,000;

the previous value was revised to 222,000. The four-week average of initial jobless claims in the US last week was 214,250, a decrease of 250 from the previous week.

As of the week ending March 30, the number of continued jobless claims in the US was 1,817,000, an increase of 28,000 from the previous week, while the market expected it to be 1.8 million.
