The protagonist of the "Century Trial" case, NFL star O.J. Simpson, has passed away.

Enlarge the picture. The family of former American football legend O.J. Simpson said that Simpson died of cancer on Wednesday at the age of 76.

In 1995, in a sensational "Century Trial" in the United States, Simpson, who was suspected of murdering his ex-wife Nicole Brown and another friend, was acquitted and released, causing a national uproar.

Before joining the National Football League (NFL) in the United States, Simpson rose to fame as a college football player.

In 2008, Simpson was sentenced to 33 years in prison for armed robbery. He was released in 2017.
