Huawei achieved revenue of CNY704.2 billion in 2023 Profits Jump 144%

Huawei released its 2023 financial report yesterday (29th), with annual revenue of 704.2 billion yuan, an increase of 9.6% year-on-year; among them, net profit was 87 billion yuan. Compared with the net profit of 35.562 billion yuan in 2022, it increased by nearly 1.45 times, returning to the level before being sanctioned by US chips.

Hu Houkun, the rotating chairman of Huawei, said that the overall operating conditions of the group in 2023 met expectations. In the past few years, Huawei has gone through many tests and continued to grow in the face of challenges. Looking forward to 2024, Hu Houkun said that a new journey has begun, and Huawei will adhere to open innovation, thrive the ecosystem, and win by quality.

According to the financial report, the revenue of the ICT infrastructure business was 362 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 2.3%; the revenue of the terminal business was 251.5 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 17.3%; the revenue of the cloud computing business was 55.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 21.9%; the revenue of the digital energy business was 52.6 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3.5%; the revenue of the smart vehicle solution business was 4.7 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 128.1%.

Huawei said that the overall operating conditions met expectations, among which the ICT infrastructure business remained stable, the terminal business performed as expected, the cloud computing and digital energy businesses achieved good growth, and the smart vehicle solution business began to enter the stage of large-scale delivery.

In addition, Huawei attaches great importance to research and innovation. In 2023, R&D investment reached 164.7 billion yuan, accounting for 23.4% of the annual revenue. In the past ten years, the R&D expenses invested have exceeded 1.1 trillion yuan.

"Securities Daily" quoted an insider at Huawei as saying that Huawei's R&D expenses will mainly be invested in the technical research and ecosystem construction in the fields of Hongmeng, Kunpeng, Ascend, cloud services, etc.
