Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said that the biggest challenge facing the world comes from China. China's current foreign stance and military actions are the unprecedented and biggest strategic challenge. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning responded that China expressed strong dissatisfaction and firm opposition to Japan's relevant remarks and had lodged stern representations with Japan.

Mao Ning pointed out that Japan should seriously reflect on its history of aggression, respect the security concerns of its Asian neighbors, stop exaggerating peripheral security threats, and find excuses for its own military breakthroughs to avoid further breaking the trust of its Asian neighbors and the international community.
